On the 1st weekend of July, the Andouillette and white wine festival is in full swing in the town center and in many bars and restaurants in Clamecy.

This speciality, invented at the beginning of the 19th century by “La Mère Chapuis”, was a hit with Parisian timber merchants.
Accompanied by a small Melon or Chardonnay, grown on the hillsides of the villages located a few kilometers from Clamecy: it's a treat!

On July 14, the Clamecycoises jousting tournament is reminiscent of the one organized by the wooden floats after a hard year of work!

Each year, this tournament sees the crews of the "red belts" compete against the "blue belts", each one striving, by means of a spear, to send his opponent into the water while remaining on board...

From the Bethlehem Bridge, come cheer on your champion! Will he be the poor “Soft King”, wet from head to toe or the superb “Dry King”, carried in triumph by the crowd?

On the 2nd Sunday of August, the Descente Bidon recalls another facet of the era of timber floating: those of the "lost logs" which, thrown into the water from the Morvandelle forests, floated in disorder as far as Clamecy before be organized in "wooden trains" by the floats.

That day, instead of the "lost logs", the most eccentric boats descended the Yonne River. A big party, an award ceremony and a free ball end this unmissable day in Clamecy, the undeniable capital of wooden floats.
