The Man of the Future, sculpture by Caesar

This statue of Caesar, installed on a concrete base, on the roundabout of Boulevard Misset, is made up of welded bronze elements, representing a standing man with a wing spanning 6 m. Its weight is 6 tons.
The order for this work results from an agreement made in December 1985 between the National Center for Plastic Arts and the department of Nièvre. The monument, financed for the most part by the State, with a contribution from the General Council of Nièvre, was installed in Clamecy in July 1987 and inaugurated in the presence of President François Mitterrand on July 9, 1987.
